Authors' workshop Second Cohesion Report of the RDC RISC
The Cohesion Report is coordinated by the Research Data Centre (RDC RISC) and brings together a large number of RISC researchers. It provides insights into social cohesion in Germany based on the RISC's central data infrastructures.
During the two-day meeting, the participants presented research findings from the RISC sections based on data from the German Social Cohesion Panel (SCP), the Qualitative Panel, the Regional Panel and the Social Media Observatory (SMO). These were discussed in detail and integrated into the overall concept of the report.
The upcoming Cohesion Report is dedicated to central questions on climate attitudes and their influence on social cohesion. Among other things, the following were discussed:
- What systematic patterns of attitudes towards climate change and climate policy can be identified?
- How are socio-structural characteristics related to different patterns of climate attitudes?
- To what extent do political voting preferences play a role here?
- How do people deal with climate change issues in their everyday lives and how does this influence their perception of social cohesion?
The workshop marked an important step on the way to producing the report and once again demonstrated the strength of cross-section cooperation within the RISC.
